The Corner - Wilson: Chef-Driven Dining with Southern Hospitality in Wilson, NC

We had the steak with smashed potatoes, the Cajun salmon with lemon rice and green beans, and the chicken of the woods—perfectly fried mushrooms—and every dish was outstanding. The Corner in Wilson is a chef-driven gem that delivers well beyond its price point. We sat at the counter and watched the kitchen move like clockwork during their very first service, with the chef himself leading the way. The attention to detail, the creativity in each dish, and the clear passion behind the food make this place something special. If you’ve dined at spots like the now-closed Fine Folk in Raleigh or Native Fine Diner in Greenville, you’ll appreciate the same level of thoughtfulness and execution here. And if you’re within an hour of Wilson, this place is absolutely worth the drive. We’ll be back—and without a doubt, The Corner is now in our restaurant rotation.

Our favorite place to dine! The food is fabulous as is the atmosphere and service. Lots of favorites on the menu along with a wide variety! Love the many menu options and bar drinks. Don’t miss the opportunity to have a nice evening out prepares amazing food with owners and staff that go above and beyond to make it perfect!

The Corner is fine dining at its best! Personally, I find that the warm and inviting faces of the staff make me feel right at home. Angelo’s smile and the light in Taylor’s eyes are indicative of the passion they have for good food and even better customer service. I love this place.

My husband and I decided to try The Corner for date night. It was a quiet Thursday evening and wasn’t busy at all, which was perfect for us. We enjoy stepping out our comfort when it comes to try new places. The menu has a good varieties and the waitress informed us that the menu items change bi-weekly. Very clever! My husband tried The Short Rib Lasagna, and I tired the Beast Burger. Both were really good! We also had an alcoholic beverage. He had the Manhattan 37 and I had the Pear Margarita. We finished off when the chocolate layered cake. We packed it up for Togo, but it wasn’t our favorite. I am curious to try another dessert item in the future. 10/10 would recommend trying The Corner.

We are absolutely thrilled to have such a gem right here in downtown Wilson! My husband and I dine at The Corner often, and every visit is a treat. From the handcrafted specialty cocktails (their bartender is top-notch!) to the incredible food that never disappoints, this place delivers on all fronts. Add in the warm, genuine Southern hospitality, and you’ve got the perfect dining experience. The Corner is the best dining experience available in the area! The food, the service, the atmosphere, the drinks…are all amazing. They simply never miss. I added pics of our drinks and one of our small plate selections. They get 5 stars simply because 15 stars is not an available option.

I pictured it more formal, but I enjoyed the easy going vibe, nice classic historical building with a modern flair, it was father's day and there was people of all ages, everyone looked happy and content, food was amazing, service was top notch, I ate each bite slowly and enjoyed it so much, I need to go back and try the rest of the menu,

I took my son to The Corner in Wilson, NC to celebrate his birthday on a Friday night, and we were both completely blown away. From start to finish, it was five-star treatment all the way — truly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time, anywhere. We started with an appetizer that set the tone immediately — tender pork belly served with a Brussels sprout slaw and a peach marinade, plus what tasted like either marinated or sun-dried tomatoes. It was such an elevated, unexpected dish and absolutely delicious. Then came the warm cornbread and butter, a thoughtful touch you rarely see anymore. It was soft, flavorful, and just the right start before our entrées. I had the filet cooked medium rare, and I genuinely can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve dined all over the world — Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada — and this steak reminded me of something I’d expect at a high-end spot like STK. Melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with precision. My son ordered the steakhouse burger, medium, and it was just as flawless — juicy and full of flavor. I also tried a guava mojito, which I’ve never had before — and it was incredible. Refreshing, not too sweet, and definitely strong in the best way. We had booth seating, and I loved how the layout still felt social and community-driven. We chatted with the folks sitting beside us, who were also having a fantastic time. And one of the best parts? The open kitchen is right in front of you, so you can actually watch your food being prepared. It was beautiful to see how much care and attention the chefs put into every single plate. From the hostess to the server to the chef, everyone was warm, welcoming, and professional. We made reservations and were seated right on time — everything ran smoothly and felt incredibly intentional. The entire experience was like something out of a much bigger city — definitely not what you’d expect to find tucked into downtown Wilson, but such a gift to have here. We’ll absolutely be back. I hope this place thrives because it deserves all the love. A true gem.
